RAM 1500 Picks Up Another Truck of the Year Title

The RAM 1500 is not only the preferred truck among the Columbus, OH area drivers, but by auto experts around the nation. Last year, the pickup picked up "Truck of the Year" titles from the Texas Auto Writers Association, the North American Auto Show, the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press, and Motor Trend magazine.

Though the 2014 model is still a recent addition to the new RAM lineup, it is following suit with Autobytel.com's "Pickup Truck of the Year" award.

The automotive media and marketing services company found the RAM model to excel in categories like innovation, design, and features. As a result, it was a clear cut win for the 1500.

"For the second year in a row, the award winning RAM 1500 continues to bring fuel efficiency and tech in a bold package to the value shoppers and accomplishment seekers who want to get the job done right," explained Michelle Naranjo, the editor-in-chief for Autobytel.1

The 2014 RAM 1500 was praised for its all-new EcoDiesel engine option. The 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 delivers a whopping 240 horsepower, 420 pound-feet of torque, all while improving the truck's EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings-- the best within its class.

Judges also enjoyed the redesigned eight-speed automatic transmission system, as well as its premium rear coil suspension system, which comes standard with the RAM pickup.

The Autobytel team dubs the RAM 1500 as the "most recognizable pickup on the road."2 Not only because of its looks, but because everyone associates its badge with top-notch performance.
